In our application we have a landing page with a list view. In the list view there are several promoted filters configured. One of the filters the day of birth. When configuring the promoted filter we have the options for Default, Advanced and our own specific search criteria. However our business want to be able to search for a specific day. Just like a calendar option we would use in a case when filling a form.
How can I implement this particular business requirement?
This is the same, whether you use List View or an Insight. Even if it is a range, it defaults the “to” to the “from” date you select, so its very quick to use, even if you want 1 date.
Thank you for the quick reply with an extensive explanation of the possibilities. However I still do not see an option to default enter only a date to search upon. I can use the custom option to use a defaulted date. But then the user cannot change this date to another value.
Maybe it helps to be more exact on the details of our application. We have thousands of persons in our system. Based on the search criteria last name and day of birth we would like to search for a specific person.
In my opinion it would be easier for the user if he can only select the “equal to” option instead of going through the list each time to filter on day of birth
I agree, there are use cases where it would be great to configure this to default to “equal to”. However, I can’t see a way to do this beyond the above options.
If it was me, I’d probably stick with the default option.
selected Date of Birth and user can select the date (with 2 clicks).
Feedback
I had already raised this feedback (FDBK-143639) to our product teams. Once I get my hands on Infinity '26 post Pega World I’d be keen to test to see what other options are available to us.
