Pega CDM - Data & Integration Designer not available in APP Studio

Hello All,

We are working in CS Constellation application, where we trying to integrate the Contact record with from an external system. With the resources we learnt from academy ( Integrating an external data source | Pega Academy ). When we navigate to the APP Studio —> Tools → Data & IntegrationDesigner we dont see the option.

Can anyone help what are the configurations / Roles missed for the feature. ?

The APP Architecture we have

CSC11N (Implementation). Built on (CustomerService-Constellation)

Hello Matheswaran, from your screenshot it is very clear the app stack are different.. I can see you are in Customer service app studio with control panel visibility where as the academy screenshot may be built over Pega common application (no CS in the stack).. Can you try the modular development on the common application as shown in academy, atleast you will see the data & integration designer part!!

You are right on point. We did try building a common application on top of PegaRULESApplication, and we were able to access it.

However, our requirement is to use the CDM Wizard to connect an external data source within the Constellation Customer Service application.

From our understanding, this is the recommended approach to leverage the CDM class Common-LDM-Entity-Contact for Constellation Interaction case types.

Do you know of any alternative approach for integrating an external System of Record (SOR) with the Contact CDM assets?

Any guidance or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. :slight_smile:

Hello Matheswaran,

On looking in detail, the designer is packaged as a component as part of Pega common application and should be available in the Pega Infinity '25 Customer service stack.

Few questions - Can you please check your Pega common application stack and version.. does it hold version 25 rulesets? -

When was your environment upgraded to 25 version? - Pega common application is usually part of additional media file - extra jar needs to be installed. I suspect something missed on that line!! Hope this info helps

Hello Prem,

The environment was upgraded to version 25 approximately three months ago. I compared our application stack with the corresponding instance available in Pega Academy and did not identify any differences in the built-on application layers.

However, I observed that the default configuration settings between the Pega Academy instance and our cloud environment differ significantly. We are currently working with the Pega GCS team to investigate this under incident INC-D47732.

I will share an update as soon as we receive a resolution or further guidance from the GCS team.
