I have been working on pega 8.8 but now pega 23 is out do i need to restart under pega 23 ?

Pega recommends always using, and being enabled on the most current version.
You do not have to “restart” your training. If you have completed previous versions of a mission, your progress is copied over to the newer version if the content has not changed. This means you only have to complete net new content.
