Pega 8.8.2 - Connect to MariaDB - HikariPool timeout error

One external MariaDB Database has been configured in Pega 8.8.2 which is running on WebSphere 9.5. The mariadb-java-client-1.1.7.jar file has been placed in the below location in the application server:

/usr/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/lib

The test connection is failing with below error:

I followed the page How to configure external DB connections from Designer Studio | Support Center (pega.com), imported mariadb-java-client-1.1.7.jar into Pega 8.8.2 and created the DSS, but still getting the same error.

Please suggest what needs to be done.

The issue was resolved by placing mariadb-java-client-1.5.5.jar file inside the lib folder of WebSphere.
