Package Work Wizard in Pega 24.1 is not available

Hi,

I am working with Pega Infinity version 24.1 and noticed that the Package Work Wizard menu is missing. This feature was available in previous versions (7.1.9, 8.3, 8.6, 8.7), and I would like to know if it has been deprecated, replaced, or moved to a different location in this version.

Thank you.

@Yudhi2310

I found this document on Package Work Wizard for 24.1 on our docs site.

You should be able to locate it here based on the document above.

  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click Configure > Application > Distribution > Package Work.

@Yudhi2310 @MarissaRogers

I also don’t see this option(Package Work) in 24.2.

@RameshSangili The Package Work Wizard is no longer available in Pega 24.1 and 24.2 as it has been deprecated. Instead, you can use the Application Packaging Wizard to package and migrate your application components. To access it, go to Configure > Application > Distribution > Package in Dev Studio. The wizard will guide you through selecting the application components like rulesets and data types and help you create a product rule, which can be exported as an archive file for deployment to other environments. This updated method offers a more comprehensive approach for exporting applications compared to the old Package Work Wizard

Hi @MarissaRogers

I have checked, there is no Package Work menu. If I compare the navigation pzApplicationMainMenu between Pega 24.1 and 8.x, it exists in 8.x, but it doesn’t exist in 24.1.

Hi @Sairohith

The Package Work wizard creates a package containing Case data. This Case data can include work items, assignments, history, bugs, documents, and attachments.

@RameshSangili or @Yudhi2310 would you be able to submit a ‘Feedback’ directly on the documentation?

This will allow us to log the documentation bug officially in order to have the wording changed from '24.2 and later releases.

@MarijeSchillern Sure, Feedback submitted.

Hi @MarijeSchillern, I have already submitted the feedback. Thank you.

Thank you @Yudhi2310!

Also, if you’re happy with one of the above replies about why the functionality no longer exists, please could you mark their reply with ‘Accept Solution’?

This will help other users find this post and get their answers too :slight_smile:
