Hi, how can I achieve this scenario where on click of one field I need to open view which show some details to user. I can achieve this for records in embedded list. But any way I can achieve this outside the embedded list.
Unlike Traditional UI (Section-based/UI Kit) where you could attach an On-Click → Local Action / Open Modal event directly to a Text or Scalar property, Constellation dictates behavior strictly by field types, data object relationships, or case actions.
Options depend on whether the intent is purely Read-Only drill-down or Editable / Actionable interaction:
- Data Reference Field with “Display as Link” (Read-Only Detail View): If the field represents an underlying Data Object or Case Reference and you want the user to click it to preview details, configure the scalar property into a Data Reference field (single record) pointing to your target Data Object or Case Type.
- Local Case / Optional Action (Actionable / Editable View): If the detail view requires input or workflow submission, then define an Optional Action (or Local Action) at the Case/Stage level that references the target View
- Embedded Data Object Single-Record Pattern (Read/Write Modal): If the details belong to a single structured page/field within the current case context, then define the field as Embedded Data (Single Record) instead of separate scalar properties.
- Custom DX Component (For Exact On-Click Scalar Field Triggers): If you strictly require a standalone scalar field (e.g., clicking a simple text box or custom icon next to a field) to invoke a modal displaying an arbitrary Data Page or View, Constellation does not support arbitrary On-Click event handlers on standard scalar fields (Text, Integer, Picklist). You need to create a lightweight Custom DX Component
I think we need to go ahead with custom component as per business requirement

Sorry, then you have to build your own Custom component to achieve your requirement.
May I know, why there is a business use case to show the additional detail on click of a button. You can display using the Field Group to show the additional details and the user have an option to collapse it.
What is the type of the field you want to click on? If it’s an object like a data reference, you can just link to it (in '26 and probably '25 too).
Clicking preview displays additional data on the right hand panel.

This approach works for objects, either single items or even items in a list. Not scalar fields obviously. Does this help?
But if you’re looking for more of a hyperlink that takes you to some arbitrary page (rather than detail of the object you clicked on), yeah the best I can think of is the button that launches a local action.
