Hi,
I’m experiencing a persistent authentication issue with Knowledge Buddy on a PegaLabs Infinity 26 environment.
Knowledge Buddy worked correctly after installation and continued working for some time. Then, without any intentional configuration change, authentication started failing. The issue persists even after updating to the latest available Knowledge Buddy version.
I tested both OAuth2 and Basic Authentication, and both fail. One common element between the two configurations is the BuddyUser Operator.
During troubleshooting, I discovered that BuddyUser had:
- Disable Operator enabled
- Force password change on next login enabled
I re-enabled the Operator, but the issue persisted.
For the Basic Authentication test, I also:
- Disabled Force password change on next login
- Set a new password for BuddyUser
- Configured the same password in KnowledgeBuddy_Basic_EndUser
- Verified that BuddyUser uses the KnowledgeBuddy:EndUsers Access Group
However, Basic Authentication still returns HTTP 401 with:
invalid_authorization_header – Invalid Authentication Data
Has anyone encountered this behavior on PegaLabs / Knowledge Buddy 26.1? Could something else related to BuddyUser explain why authentication remains invalid after re-enabling the Operator and resetting its password?
