Is MsSQL supported in pega 8.7 on Azure

Can you please confirm if MsSQL is supported in pega 8.7 on Azure (client managed cloud).

@SHREYA KAMATH well so you mean MySQL or MSSQL (Microsoft SQL) ? if it’s Microsoft SQL then that’s certainly supported both as internal and external tables. MySQL can be used as a external table using it’s JDBC Driver.

Thank you for the response. In platform support guide it is mentioned that ‘Azure SQL Managed Instance’ is compatible with pega 8.7. Can you please confirm whether Azure managed SQL is same as MsSQL (Microsoft SQL). Our client wants to explore option of using MsSQL on Azure.

@SHREYA KAMATH could you check whether the response give in DB support in Azure answers your question?

I believe the platform support guide does not indicate whether Azure App Services is supported as a deployment application web container because Azure web container models below are not supported.

  1. Azure App Services (PaaS)

  2. Azure Virtual Machines (IaaS)

We do not support other container orchestration systems. We only support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) on Azure. See Meeting requirements and prerequisites, About client-managed cloud, and Client-managed cloud.

Azure Managed Instance SQL Server is therefore not supported.
