The new AI Assistant in Infinity 26 can help you implement tasks automatically by leveraging the new implementation plan feature, as Kerim demonstrated impressively in his PegaWorld 26 keynote:
While experimenting with the feature, I was able to have the AI Assistant fully implement tasks such as changing flows and steps, creating data objects and properties, implementing and testing GenAI Connect rules, and much more.
Especially for more complex tasks, there may be multiple ways to solve a problem. To get the AI Assistant to implement a task exactly the way you want it, adjusting the implementation “Plan” delivered very good results for me:
I wanted the AI Assistant to implement a new REST connection to retrieve card network details for a given ID. My goal was to have a fully working data page with the Connect REST rule, data model, data transforms, and related configuration created automatically by the AI Assistant.
By extending the initial plan with more specific instructions, I was able to get a fully functional data page, including all dependent rules, working without any manual modifications.
My key learnings:
- Provide specific instructionsand all helpful information to the AI upfront to avoid unnecessary iterations
- Use the new Plan feature to describehowthe task should be implemented. Use the Description to definewhatshould be implemented.
- As always, save a template of what worked well so you can reuse it next time.
Additional note:
I was working with an early pre-release version of Infinity 26, where I could not manually add or adjust the plan directly in the task pane. As a workaround, I adjusted the plan in a user story in XLSX format and imported it back into Pega.
