We have sourced a data page as a source of dropdown in constellation but its displaying no records however if i run the data page standalone its fetching results so how to debug this-will inspect and network tab work here?

Hello @TanyaS58

Yes, network and console tabs should be your first priority to verify whether the data page call is made to pega server and expected data is returned or any errors are encountered.

Ensure that you test your data page execution is fetching results by running the data page standalone in dev studio as well.

Regards

JC

@TanyaS58 you may find [Debugging Constellation applications | Pega Academy](https://academy.pega.com/challenge/debugging-constellation-applications/v4) useful.

The likely cause is caching. Constellation architecture is different to what you may have seen in Traditional, so its common to hit this when first adopting Constellation.

If this data page is parameterized, then it would be great to validate the request tab (in network) to ensure the parameters are being passed matches as per your requirement.

Yes, the browser DevTools → Network → Fetch/XHR tab would be a good starting point for debugging this in Constellation.

Hi @Tharun_K_T I have seen some articles where PCore.getDataPageUtils();to trace a data page in constellation this command is used so will it trace the overall step like post selecting the dropdown if i use this command so will it trace the complete action that happens post clicking on the dropdown that is sourced by data page?

Please check the payload and drill down the query to identify the data page parameters has the correct values.

I believe this does not directly trace all user actions. Pega describes it as a method to inspect client-side cached Data Pages within the browser’s application datastore. Additionally, please refer to @RameshSangili 's attachment below and review the payload section for further details.

Ramesh has shared later in this thread.

I would almost always close browser and check, before debugging. However, if you want to be 100% sure what is loading in the datapage in that session, you can check the Redux store for it. You’ll see old results loading.
