Hiding delete action for Data level attachments

HI Everyone,

I have been trying to look for some configuration that would hide the Delete action for an attachment attached on embedded data layer.

I have tried using Attachment category to restrict the deletion of “Delete own”/“Delete all”, that restricts the attachment from getting deleted but with a validation that appears only when we click Submit/Save for later buttons.

Is there any approach to hide the Delete action itself? Or to show the validation message and skip the deletion of that attachment as soon as the user clicks the Delete action?

Application: Pega Constellation v25.1.2

As far as I know, Constellation 25.1.2 does not provide an OOTB option to hide the Delete action for attachment fields on embedded data.

@AshishB9 You can remove the option to delete the whole embedded row that has the attachment in the list via row-level delete condition in the table config.

@LantzAndreas yes that is available. We were actually looking for the option to control delete action on the attachment itself.

@AshishB9 Perhaps have a look at if you can configure it via attachment categories? I don’t know if that works for attachments in fields, but worth a shot.

@LantzAndreas Yes we did try it out. It restricts from security POV but it does not hide the deletion button.

The question was actually intended for data level embedded attachments. But, it seems to be a limitation.
