Do you have any idea how to estimate the size of cases on Pega? I am currently using Pega Cloud, and my company has a plan to migrate application to use Pega. This application is using .Net framework and SQL Database. They inform that every interaction (cases) that stored on their system is around 10 KB.
I need to have a rough estimation about how large is size of cases that stored on Pega Database, especially if stored on Cloud? Or, do you have any infromation about cloud hardware estimation tools ?
When estimating the size of cases in Pega Cloud, it’s important to consider factors such as the number of properties, data types, attachments, and historical data associated with each case. While your current system stores each case at approximately 10 KB, Pega’s case structure may introduce additional metadata and complexity, potentially increasing the size to an estimated range of 15-30 KB per case. This estimation accounts for properties, attachments, comments, and system metadata inherent to Pega’s architecture. Additionally, leveraging Pega Cloud’s scalability ensures that storage can adjust based on actual usage, but it’s advisable to conduct a pilot migration to obtain more accurate measurements. Utilizing Pega’s deployment tools and cloud provider calculators can further refine your estimates, helping to optimize storage costs and performance. Overall, planning for a moderate increase in case size and regularly monitoring storage usage will facilitate a smooth migration to Pega Cloud
