Deploying Components with Deployment Manager Pipeline

Similar questions have been asked here, so I would like to know if there is any update on supporting Component deployment in Deployment Manager:

We would like to create a pipeline in Deployment Manager that can deploy a Component without the need to also deploy an application. Is this possible yet?

Currently, I can see that we need to deploy an application and include the Component in the Product Rule. Ideally, we would like a Pipeline where we just specify the Component to deploy.

@SimonE59 as the posts are only a couple of months old I doubt there will have been any changes to our product since then.

@nayam as there was no linked FDBK on the quoted posts I was unable to check internally for progress on user stories. A search brought up EPIC-16056 (Support modular/component deployments) and EPIC-33934 (Break up Deployment Manager into modules (components)) but both of these are status withdrawn. Could you provide any insight on this question?

Hi All, As stated earlier, deploying a component using a Deployment pipeline should do the trick. We are not planning to add any additional capability to support the components.

I can commit to documenting the process of handling the component explicitly in couple of weeks to ease out the process. Hope that helps.

I will post the article once published.

Please see an update. These documents are for Deployment Manager service (Pega Cloud) but should be relevant for Deployment Manager version 5 as well:

How to configure component to work with pipelines?

Use deployment pipeline for components

Use merge pipeline with components

Use Deploy-artifact pipeline with components
