In most training programs - even at university - a capstone project is usually the final assignment.
In Pega Academy, this final assignment is the mission exercise. The mission exercise is designed to consolidate your learning with valuable hands-on experience in applying what they learned to a real-world scenario.
Each mission exercise provides you an opportunity to build an innovative Pega solution for a real-world business problem. You will notice that mission exercises are far less prescriptive than challenges. This is by design - we want you to build your own solution following the given acceptance criteria.
As noted on our website, the mission tests are capstone assessments. They test your understanding of all the concepts covered in that specific Mission.
It seems that ‘Capstone’ is a common term in American English, but not widely used in the UK, where I’m from.
I have found the Academy littered with this kind of American-bias, which is not suprising given it’s origin - but it does make for some confusion when trying to understand certain definitions or explanations! For me, it has been the number one frustration and blocker for my progress.
